Attention RTOB Volunteers
Greetings!
First off, I want to thank EVERYONE for all their help in the upcoming Ryle Tournament of Bands this Saturday! It takes a village, a family…whatever you want to call it…everyone is needed to make this tournament a success!
I do want to point out, it is expected to be HOT! We will have water on-site, but if everyone brings their own personal water bottle, that will cut down on cups and will keep you hydrated! Also, dress accordingly! If you have bought an RTOB shirt (or have one from past years) please wear that. Otherwise, please wear Ryle Band shirts. We need to identify ourselves to our guests. Also, shorts are permitted and encouraged
ADULT VOLUNTEERS:
- Please park in the field north of the baseball fields (between left field and Double Eagle Drive, entering by the stop sign. We have thousands coming to our campus! We need as much parking space as possible
- As soon as you come, go to the Volunteer table. It will be located outside the band room. They will mark off your name and give you an entry wristband and a name tag. There will also be schedules, directions, and maps – whatever you need for your position.
- Try to be there a little early. Bands have a scheduled arrival, but they often come early.
- Adult volunteers have access to the Hospitality room, where there will be food and drinks. Stay hydrated! This is located in the Home Ec room at Ryle.
- Please be courteous to our guests. Bands and spectators return when they are cared for and feel welcomed! If there is a problem, find me or someone who has a walkie talkie.
MARCHING BAND STUDENT VOLUNTEERS:
- Parking will be in the field north of the baseball fields (between left field and Double Eagle Drive, entering by the stop sign. We have thousands coming to our campus! We need as much parking space as possible. Please plan on parking here when you come to rehearsal in the morning.
- Before your shift begins, go to the Volunteer table. It will be located outside the band room. They will mark off your name and give you an entry wristband and a name tag. There will also be schedules, directions, and maps – whatever you need for your position. Bring your own lunch. When you are ready for dinner, there will be a bag of food for you to pick up at the Volunteer table. It will contain a granola type bar, juice, fruit, and cookies. It will also have a ticket for a free hot dog at concessions. STUDENTS WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO HOSPITALITY.
- You are expected to be on campus all day. You will not be allowed to hang out in the halls outside the band room. However, because of the heat, you may hang out in the band room. If you are done with your shift, go back to the volunteer table to see where else you might be needed. If you are not needed, check back in an hour.
- Stay hydrated! Bring a water bottle! It will be hot! There will be a water cooler outside the band room. Bring your own water bottle so that trash is kept at a minimum and we do not waste cups.
- Students will be responsible for clean up at the end of the night, and will be assigned a job.
- Be kind and courteous! Make other bands and spectators feel welcomed!
Thank you all! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at rylebandprez@gmail.com
