Andrew Acheson
Andy Acheson currently serves as a Code Enforcement Officer with Kenton County Planning & Development Services, a role he has held since 2023. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and previously served in the United States Army from 2012 to 2018.
Andy brings an extensive background in the marching arts as both a performer and educator. He marched with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2002 to 2005, where he served as Flag Captain in 2004 and Guard Sergeant in 2005. During his time with the Cavaliers, the corps experienced one of the most historic competitive runs in its history, earning a medal placement each year. He continued his performance career with The Pride of Cincinnati Winterguard from 2005 to 2007, where the ensemble also enjoyed a highly successful and competitive era, earning medal placements each season.
As an educator, Andy has directed programs at Mason High School (OH) (Bands of America Finalist), Beechwood High School (KY), The Woodlands College Park High School (TX), The Woodlands High School (TX) (Bands of America Finalist), Campbell County High School (KY), Harrison County High School (KY), and Taylor High School (OH), listed from most recent to earliest.
His drum corps instructional experience includes positions with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2006–2009), Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (2010), and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2011–2012). He also contributed to the independent winterguard activity with Cypress Independent (TX) in 2010.
In addition to his primary roles, Andy has worked as a technician, choreographer, consultant, and drill writer for numerous programs, including Conner High School (KY), George Rogers Clark High School (KY), Dunbar High School (KY), Judson High School (TX), Marcus High School (TX), Lehman High School (TX), Colerain High School (OH), West Clermont (OH), Williamstown Independent (KY), and Dixie Heights High School (KY).
Andy began working with the Larry A. Ryle program as a technician and choreographer for the Fall 2023 Color Guard season and looks forward to continuing to grow the program for the 2026–2027 school year.
Andy has also served as a judge for the TriState Marching Arts Circuit. Outside of his professional and artistic pursuits, he is a devoted dog lover and enjoys spending his free time at the movie theater—preferably with a bucket of buttery popcorn in hand.
