Dear Ryle Marching Band Family,

What an amazing season for the Ryle Marching Band. Our kids started band camp on July 20th and worked very hard every single day thru this past Saturday at the KMEA State Marching Band Championships. We took the shell of American Tapestry back in July and developed it into a marching band production that I am sure our students will remember and look back on with pride. I couldn’t have been more proud of our performance in Semifinals. The marched, played, and danced with a great deal of confidence and poise on Saturday. These students are wonderful young people who committed their time and energy to a very worthwhile endeavor. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with during this marching band season.

It would be impossible to thank all of our parent volunteers because I would leave someone out. I would like to thank Tracy Fuchs, Band Booster President, our booster board and all of you who volunteered in any way during this marching band season to support our kids. It is a tremendous undertaking to make all of the “moving parts” work to support our band. No job is to small or insignificant in support of our kids. Everyone who volunteers is truly vital to the success of our band. Thank you for all that you do in support of the Ryle HS Bands.

What is “Band Season?” Band season begins on July 1 and ends on June 30th. We have many concerts, auditions, sectionals etc….between now and our performance at graduation.

Immediate responsibilities include providing school spirit for home playoff football games. The marching band musicians will be responsible for providing pep band music during home playoff games. The report time for games will be 6:45 PM – Students will need to be dressed in comfortable clothes (No Uniform, No On Field Performance) Spirit wear is encouraged. Pay attention to the weather and dress appropriately. We will have a game this Friday November 4 and if they win again on November 11. I will forward playoff game information to you as I receive it from our Athletic Director. – Color Guard members are also welcome to sit with the musicians and cheer for the football team.

I can’t thank you enough for all that you do to support the Ryle High School Bands.

I encourage you to always have a positive word to say about all of our Ryle Band kids as you interact with friends and coworkers in our school community.

See You Soon
