Hello Ryle Band Families!
We have an exciting weekend ahead of us at Tates Creek! Many of the finest 5A bands in the state will be in attendance, and we have a good week of rehearsals to help prepare us for the last regular season competition of 2017!
A HUGE thanks to the parents who unloaded our trailers in the pouring rain on Saturday night. Also, a big thanks to Eric Jasper and his team for the quick repair work on our “Charlottes” for this coming weekend. It was certainly scary for me to watch the props fall in prelims Saturday, but after talking to Eric we have a plan in place to remedy this going forward for the rest of the season. I’m just glad none of our kids were injured!!!
While we didn’t place as well as we’d hoped this past Saturday, I’m still very confident in this show and the potential of our band in the weeks ahead. We simply have to work on our execution and performance excellence and we will get the credit for the high demand of the show. When our execution matches our design, I’m confident we can compete with anyone in our state. That being said, our coming weeks of rehearsals are EXTREMELY important, so attendance is absolutely vital to our success. Please do all you can to help remind the students of the importance of finishing their season strong and doing all they can to take care of their bodies and minds in the weeks ahead.
Lastly, I know that during this time of year many of our students begin to feel overwhelmed at times with the demands of marching band, school work, long weekends, etc. Please know that I am well aware of this and will do all I can to help your children get through this demanding time. The next few weeks will fly by for us all, and the band has its best performances and weekends ahead of us. Please help remind your children that I believe in them and the hard work and sacrifices they are making will pay great dividends in the life lessons they learn in our program. Thanks again to you and to your children for all that you do!
Looking forward to seeing you all cheering the band on at Tates Creek! GO RAIDERS!!!
