Parent and student volunteer help is needed!! Tonight, Saturday, and well for the next couple of weeks. Ok folks, we are now into serious marching band season and there are many ways that you can be a part of the fun! And yes students can receive service hour credit for volunteering for the Ryle Band Boosters.
Tarps: Our primary prop for this year’s show are large tarps. We need about 4 adults to help TONIGHT at Ryle from 5-7:30 as we cut them down into large squares.
Next week the tarps will need painted on both sides. The challenge is finding a large indoor location to do this. Does anyone have access to a warehouse or large facility that we can use? Please contact Doug Penix if you can help with painting location at email@example.com.
Restocking Coke beverage containers: We need a small group to help move cases of Coke products from the Coke trailer to the concessions at football stadium TONIGHT at 7:15. Just a couple of pick up trucks or large minivan trunks and this should not take too long.
Painting Boards: Saturday morning at Eric Jasper’s house. Contact Eric at firstname.lastname@example.org for details. There are 14 boards ready to be painted all black. Students, this qualifies for service hours!!
Uniform sewing: We need about 10-15 people to help us add a quick stitch to the front and back of the pant legs for every marcher. We’d like to meet at 6pm on Tuesday in the band room. Contact Tyra LaVerne at email@example.com to help.
Concessions: Take a look at Charms Calendar under Volunteers to see the times that are still available. We run concessions for more than just Friday night varsity football games. We also cover JV and Freshman games. Check with Stacy Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org for specific needs.
Competition Food: The Band Boosters feed the kids at every competition providing the main meal. Parents are asked to help with side dishes, individual wrapped desserts and chips. A complete list of food needs are listed on Charms Calendar under volunteers. We also need to get our Food Crew signed up and this is always a fun group. You will not miss any performances and you get to meet every student! Contact Alecia Hunt with your questions at email@example.com.
Bottled Water: There is no such thing as too much bottled water. See a sale at the store, buy it! Drop off to the band room any day, any time!! We have a competition food storage closet just waiting for donations.
Spirit Wear: If you have not ordered a duffle bag yet, do so quickly. Best investment ever as you kid will use this bag for years as their suitcase. We will also be sending out on line ordering information for cool Ryle Band clothes and promo items very soon. Watch your inbox for updates from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ryle Tournament of Bands (RTOB): It’s only 23 days away. Again, look to Charms for volunteer sign up needs including hospitality food donations. Pride/Spirit Ad deadline has been extended to Thursday. These are ads in the printed program booklet where you can show your pride and spirit for your favorite band kid(s). Jan Ison can answer your questions at email@example.com.
Now that we have confirmed our visiting bands we are accepting reservation and payment for Trophy Sponsors. Robin Erpenbeck can give you all the details and prices at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Phew! Lots happening, lots to do, and lots of way that you can help! As always, I can’t thank all the parents and students enough for giving of your time and talents to support our Ryle music education programs. Please feel free to contact me anytime with your questions and concerns.
